Since many of today’s new jerry cans vary ever so slightly is size (due to manufacturing discrepancies), most fuel can mounting systems fail to secure the cans properly. There is often wiggle room between the carrier and the can. And that gap, however slight, causes rattle and wear. What’s the point in strapping down your cans if they aren’t truly secure?

The Front Runner jerry can holders offer a smart no rattle no wear solution. The adjustable locking steel clasp means your cans can be secured firmly in place over a lifetime of off-road abuse.

For use with 20l / 5.3 gallon NATO/Wedco style military cans. Will not work with Scepter style cans.

The new bolt on top strap means provides greater convenience when removing the jerry can.

In addition, the steel strap downs cover the jerry can cap. Add your own padlock and you’ll never have to worry about stolen fuel while on the road.

The Front Runner single jerry can holder is made of black powder coated stainless steel and is designed to easily bolt to the Front Runner Roof Racks using the flat slotted slats in the rack.

The single jerry can holder can be bolted to any flat surface and can be used in a wide variety of applications such as mounting to pickup truck beds.

Legend has it that Front Runner was conceived between a 1988 Land Cruiser 70 and a 1992 Mercedes G-Wagen in Botswana, around a campfire, near a majestic Baobab, amongst elephant tracks, by a handful of friends from South Africa with backgrounds in engineering, design, manufacturing and off-road racing. After suffering through numerous equipment failures on their expeditions around the world, they decided to take their shared passion for vehicle based adventure travel and dream up new, smart gear and build it stronger than… well, as they put it, “stronger than the elephants at the watering hole 1 klick over.”

And just like that, before the moon gave way to the sun, we were born.

With the gruelling African bush as a testing ground, we at Front Runner focused on a tough love approach to developing products. With both feet facing the future and little sentimentally for mediocre ideas of the past – common approaches to off-road vehicle product design were quickly jettisoned in favor of innovation, new materials, and superior manufacturing practices.
